Afua Korankyewaa Arde-Acquah

afua@jplegalgh.com

Afua is the founder and managing partner of JP Legal. Called to the Ghana Bar following her training at the Ghana School of Law, she brings over a decade of substantive experience spanning civil and commercial litigation, corporate governance, international arbitration, and regulatory compliance — advising clients fluently in both English and French.

Before founding JP Legal, Afua served as a Senior Associate at a leading Ghanaian law firm, managing a portfolio of corporate lawsuits across land litigation, debt recovery, and commercial disputes. She simultaneously served as Senior Legal Counsel and Anti-Money Laundering Reporting Officer (AMLRO) in the financial services sector, giving her frontline experience with Bank of Ghana regulatory frameworks that very few litigators possess.

She has served as second chair counsel in significant international arbitrations involving state parties and major infrastructure projects, and as Repeat External Counsel to the Attorney General’s Department. She has also led negotiations on complex joint venture and technology commercialisation agreements involving listed corporates and state utilities, and as Company Secretary to regulated entities and high-profile national governance bodies.
